How To: Cagayan De Oro to Camiguin

We visited Cagayan De Oro city last January 23-26,  4D3N adventure. We were a group of 5, and this was of course, a budget trip. We bought our tickets during one of Cebu Pacific's seat sale last year.  Since we were on a budget trip, the question of taking a taxi was always debated, and we always opted for public transportation, if we can.  Good thing one of our companions had been to CDO before.
So from Lumbia airport, we walk outside to the highway, a mere 5-minute walk, and board a jeep bound to Carmen. Fare was only P7.50.  Then we told the driver to drop us off where there are jeep bound to Agora Bus terminal.  I think we were dropped off at R2  The fare was only P17 going to Agora.  In Agora bus terminal, we checked the bus fare going to Balingoan Port for buses bound to Butuan, and it was P148 for airconditioned bus, and P80 something for ordinary.  There is an entrance fee of P3 when you go inside the bus terminal, by the way.  Then, there was this guy who was offering his van for  P1200 and we managed to haggle it down to P180 per person for 5 of us.  Lucky for the driver he was able to get 2 more passengers before we left. Travel time from Agora Bus terminal to Balingoan Port was 2 hours.
When we arrived t Balingoan Port, the van was to about to leave at 12nn.  Fare was P170 each and we also paid the terminal fee of P3 (or was it P5).  There was also an environmental fee but there was no other to take our payment.  Travel time from Port Balingoan to Port Benoni was 1.5 hour because the ferry was so sloooooowww!
Anyway, when we arrived at Port Benoni in Camiguin, the porter was there with a sign and he led us to our multicab c/o Kuya Criz.  Then off we were to our day tour.  We hired Kuy Criz for 2 days, for only P2,500 and he was also our guide and photographer all the time!
So accommodating and helpful!  If you are going to Camiguin, you may get in touch with him at 09215637788.
