4K Garden And Water Fun Resort, Sta. Maria Bulacan: A Review

We had our family outing last Sunday at the 4K Garden Resort in Brgy. Catmon, Sta. Maria Bulacan. The resort has 3 public swimming pools, 2 private pools and 1 wave pool. It has air conditioned rooms, nipa huts and cottages of different sizes for rent. Entrance fee for day swimming of 8am-5pm is P150 for adults and kids , P120 for senior citizen and free for your driver and for kids 3 feet and below.

There was also a basketball court which you can rent for P150 an hour and a karaoke machine for P1,000 the whole day. If you don't want to rent, there are 2 karaokes with the P5-slot per song. There were also air conditioned rooms, at P1500 for a single room which we checked out but we didn't get anyway because you still had to rent a cottage even if you already rented a room. We just settled for a big cottage nearest the pools good for 20 at P800.

Here are the reasons why you should check out 4K Garden and Water Funs Resort:

The huge slides leading to the 3 pools. The kiddie pool is the one at the middle and there are lifeguards with speaker reminding parents not to leave their kids unattended at the pools.

The wave pool, of course. It was such a hit with all the kids and the adults as well. I think this is just an additional attraction to the resort because it was at the other side, after the private pools.

The private pool is another attraction by the way. You can rent the Anahaw pool, which is good for 30 pax free on entrance fee at P8,000 for the whole day. I think there are also 2 air conditioned rooms included in the package. This was not on out budget but had we known, it would have suited us perfectly.

There are many other reasons why I would recommend this resort:\

1. The staff was very accommodating. Since this was our first visit, we wanted to check out the air conditioned rooms and the cottages and the pool and a staff showed us around while we were waiting for the cashier to open.

2. The guard was courteous. I went inside an open gate to check out the resort. It was before opening time, and the kids followed me. When the guard saw us, he asked me if we have paid the entrance fee already and I told him not yet and we were just taking some pictures. He asked me quiet nicely to please leave once were done so that the other guests wont follow me. So we did.

3. There were life guards with first aid kid and speakers at hand. There was also a public address system reminding us that the wave pool is now open so we can enjoy it. But when I asked one lifeguard what is the schedule of the wave pool, if its 20 minutes every hour or so, he just said to just wait for the announcement.

4. The 2 shower rooms were big and good for 10-15 people, except that there were no trash bins inside although there was one outside. I just hate seeing empty shampoo sachets and napkins on the shower room.

We really enjoyed the resort and the sunburned faces of my kids and their cousins are a very good indication of how much fun they had.

However, here four reasons why I might not come back:

1. The sink. Just take a look at it and you will know why. At one resort we frequent, there is a sink and water faucet for every cottage and I think there is one for every four cottages here. I am actually okay with sharing but just take a look at it! You have to step at the boulder to reach the faucet. My mother in law was complaining about it so much because she can't even reach it!

2. There were also only two grills placed side by side for every four cottages so we just improvised.
3. And the FLIES, oh God, THE FLIES! I don't know if it was just seasonal or what but we were literally swamped with flies. When we complained to the staff, they said there is a poultry nearby. We wanted to move to another area and we will just pay for the additional rental fee but they said that we can't because the nipa huts nearest the wave pool are good for only 12 people (we were 20). It was said in such a nice way that my sister in law didn't argue. I wont put the pictures here so you wont be grossed out but imagine this, if you leave an empty 1.5 coke bottle for 2 minutes, there will be 10 flies inside. Yep, we counted!

4. Their convenience store is not very convenient at all. There was a Dunkin Donut stall beside it, but they dont sell ice, water in 5-gallon container and hair conditioner. Okay, maybe this last item is just our fault for not being prepared. But we used up the drinking water for washing our hands because the sink was not conveniently located near the cottage.

But other than the reasons above, we really, really enjoyed the experience at 4K Garden Resort. And despite the sunburn, the kids are raring to go back.
