Cheap Web Hosting

With the rising cost of living due to higher costs of power, gasoline, food and shelter it is a wonder some thing remain cheap. We hear news of added prices for gas because of world market demand and supply and that goes for food as well. So when I hear about cheap web hosting from Fox Web Hosting, I am amazed that they can offer a great product at such a reasonable price! I am on the look out now for reasonable web host in terms of service and price because after 5 blogs and 3 years, I am now ready to take blogging to the next level. I just hope that they provide enough costumer support even for a some one like me who has no idea how web hosting works! I have never used another platform aside from Blogger and getting another would be a big step! It could actually mean the difference between life and death for my blogs! I kid you not! So excuse me while I read more and try to learn as much as I can about web hosting while I can still find them cheap and accessible. If you need a cheap web host like me,even for business hosting, do try to check them out for yourself!

Dinner at Jay-J's Inasal

We had dinner last week at Jay-J's Inasal at Metrowalk to celebrate Rona's birthday. It was just me, Rona and Ehms: girl bonding time. We were supposed to eat at Marina, but it was closed when we got there so we ended up eating at Jay-J's. This picture below of the outlet is from their website. Since Rona is pregnant, we opted to sit inside but it was hot.
Since we didnt know their specialty, we were not sure what to order. We ordered Bulalo, Crispy Crablets and Ginataang Seafoods. The Bulalo serving was generous and the soup tasted great and the veggies were cooked just right. Unfortunately, the meat was tough.
Another look at the Bulalo.
The Ginataang Seafoods looks great on the poster and this was what we had on our table. The serving was small and it was way too oily. There were a couple of shrimps, mussels and a squid and it was swimming in oil from the coconut. It was good, except for the oily part.
If ever there was a reason why I would recommend Jay-J's Inasal, it would be this generous serving of Crispy Crablets. It was really crispy and perfect with the vinegar dipping sauce!
So all in all, the food at Jay-J's Inasal was okay but not that memorable. I was there with great friends and the quality of the conversation more than made up for the quality of food. I could have been eating cardboard and still would not complain if only because I was eating with friends!

Hyphy's Lunch to Remember

Justify FullLast week we had lunch at Hyphy's (pronounced as high fees) at the Veranda in Robinson's Galleria. The food was described as fusion of San Francisco and Philippine cuisine and we were excited to see how it was. We each ordered our drinks below and this is the Peras Cooler. This one below is Buwig, a mocktail of banana and pineapple. But it was too sweet. That is coming from a person who love sweets.
This platter was good for 2-3 and I cant tell you how it was because it was on the other end of the table!
This Clam Pasta was very good and it was served with bread sticks.
We ordered this Mom's Meatloaf because another diner told it was good, and it was very good!
I dont know the name of this other dish but they said the noodle was good but it was too oily. This Bangus Steak was my meal and I was happy with it! The bangus was very good and the sauce was delicious. The vegetable sidings was good but it was too little and the atchara was too sweet for my taste.
My boss had the Spam Masubi and she shared it with us. It was good but difficult to eat because the serving was not bite-size.
This Dapa fillet was also great and I love the dressing.
Oh, and if there was a reason why I would go back to Hyphy's, other than the good food, great service and the 20% discount for the month of July, it would be this Tablea Chocolate Tort.
Did I mention that the coffee was free also?
So, the food was good, the service was great, the dessert was the best and the coffee was free! Will I go back to Hyphy's? You bet!!!!

Run, Dinah Run!

That memorable Robinsons Supermarket Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run where we ran 10K was great! I can still some pain on both of my legs but I am not complaining. It just means that I gave my best!
Still alive after 8 km!
Tired but happy, and still raring to go that last 1km!
I just realized that I enjoy running and will do this again next time!

And of course, a solo photo with the Banana man!
Happy Mellow Yellow Monday everyone!

I Love Pakyaw!

I received P150 from Pakyaw and I love them more. You see, I registered before because we wanted to avail of the P250 for P500 Mangan promo. Mangan was located at Robinsons Galleria and for lunch, we would just need to go down our building to avail of the promo. I bought one voucher and 2 of my friends also bought one each. I received P300 referral money from them. And then this P150 for my own registration but they wont be giving out anymore referral money. But they are very upfront about it, unlike Metrodeal. Here is a screen shot of their FAQ's.
So I love Pakyaw even though I wont be getting any more referral money from them in the future just because they heart us, really! So sign up now and enjoy their deals!

My Spa Philosophy Experience

I bought two vouchers of this Ensogo deal for 3 Sessions of Underarm Bleaching from Spa Philosophy last May for me and my sister. At 3 sessions for only P500, it was really a good deal because the usual promos are P250 for one session only. Spa Philosophy is located at D. Tuazon in Quezon City and their clinic hours are until 10 pm so I was sure that I can enjoy the treatment without hassle.
The clinic is beautifully decorated and it smelled really nice. I called their number to schedule an appointment for me and my sister at 9pm on a week day. During our first appointment, we waited for 30 minutes because of the number of clients which they say was because of the promo. They prioritize walk in clients who avail of their services at regular price. I can understand this of course because it made sense and I was not in a hurry. We were given a choice of hot and cold tea and I didn't mind waiting because there was a TV and magazines to while away the time.
The treatment area was at the second floor. The treatment consisted of a cleansing scrub left for 10 minutes and a bleaching cream which was left for 30-45 minutes. My therapist was very thorough and professional. After my session, I scheduled my next visit on a weekend and surprisingly, I was treated at once and did not have to wait at all! However, for my last session which was on a workday, I again waited for 30 minutes and I already complained because I had a headache. My therapist apologized because she said that the promo really was a hit and their room was always occupied. She gave me a free head massage to ease my headache and all was forgiven!

I really enjoyed the service at Spa Philosophy and I would still avail of this service next time even if it is not on sale. They also told me last June that they are also offering 30% discount for the next session if I wanted to avail. So if you want to try their services, you may call Spa Philosophy at 399 7781 to inquire.

Mellow Yellow Monday: 50th Birthday Party

How do you celebrate a 50th birthday party for your boss? First you must have a boss who is the best in the whole world! Below is the picture of such a guy, Mr BJ Sebastian.
Then the food: Pansit Malabon, a certifiable hit!
Pansit Bihon for long life.
The sticky Pichi-pichi for dessert.
and C2 solo for easy to hand out drinks!
And its party time! Even if it was just an office merienda celebration, which is just one of many for the golden celebration of our boss birthday, this one was something to be remembered.
The host was gracious, the food was delicious and the company great! A simple yet perfect birthday party!

Beware of "Pahingi ng Load" Text Scam

Have you ever received an sms message like this?
Ma nabangga ung sinasakyan nmin naki txt lang ako last txt ko n2 paloadan mo muna 2ng # n2 09183718853 ng 300 smart yan emergency lang may sugat ako sa ulo

The text came from this number 09322763983. THIS IS A SCAM!!! If you receive such text, try to get in touch with your loved ones some other way before giving any load. My friend was victimized this way when she thought it was her office mate asking for load. She was surprised when she found out that her friend was okay and that it was not her number. If you think that the message indeed came from your child, then at least, load a minimal amount like P10 then confirm if they are indeed your family.

Litratong Pinoy: Liwanag

Walang kokontra!

Now, Where Will Smokers Go?

With the renewed efforts of the MMDA to implement their anti-smoking in public places campaign, where will cigarette smokers go? I rook this photo from the bridge way of my office building going to Robinsons Galleria. Since the building was strictly non-smoking, they had to make do with this space to smoke.
And just this afternoon at Starbucks in Galleria, I found out that they do not allow smoking also! If I were a smoker, I would probably feel that it would be better to quit than look so stupid looking like the above! Besides, its a known fact that smoking kills. Good thing I never really liked it even after getting curious and trying it during college. Well now, I am just working on telling my kids never to try smoking!
