Sisig Hooray: Sinfully Good!

One fast food discovery that I love is Sisig Hooray. There is one in Robinsons Galleria, just beside our office that makes for great lunch and it is cheap too! And the pork sisig is made from deep fried chicken skin, so rich in cholesterol and oil, and yet it is so sinfully good!

I especially love the sauce that they put in the sisig, and the chili and the chicharon.  They have this barkada pack, good for 4-5 people and its for less than P200 only.  I can finish that myself, as long as I have one pot of rice!

This is the pork sisig.  Can you see how oily it is? Ha ha, no worries, life is short anyway :)

A Seriously BIG BURGER!

Last Friday, our group of 5 girls went to Fab Restaurant in Holiday Inn Galleria to use the voucher that my friend bought.  It was for the biggest burger in town, and it was indeed a seriously big burger!

Sorry about the quality of the photo, but I took it using my blackberry on a dimly-lighted room, just because I wanted to share how big the burger was! It was cut into 8 and we initially had a slice each.  When we finished each of our slice, we asked to have the remaining burger sliced more thinly!

The burger was good, especially the bun and the condiments but the size was overwhelming and we didn't get to finish the whole thing!

For perspective, that's my slice and I was using a whole plate!

Fab Restaurant is located at 4F, Holiday Inn Galleria Manila in Ortigas Pasig (beside Robinsons Galleria Mall)

Magnolia Ice Cream House

The new Robinsons Magnolia mall is located at the place where the Magnolia plant used to stand, hence the name.  And I guess to pay tribute to its namesake, a Magnolia Ice cream house takes a prominent place in the mall.  It is located in front of the mall, near the open spaces.

Despite the rain, my daughter was excited for this treat and while there was a long wait, she was still all smiles!
My happy daughter with her order of the Banana Split (P240.00).  I didn't get anything for me because I was on a diet and had 2 adobo rice from Adobo Connection, ha ha. I just had some scoops of the chocolate ice cream (couldn't resist!)

The banana split was good and was enough to compensate for the super slow service.  Good thing I was with my daughter who didn't mind waiting because we were having fun taking our pictures. But I saw two tables almost cancelling their orders because it took forever to be served!
So I guess Magnolia Ice cream house is okay if you are on a date, and wouldn't mind waiting and didn't have grumpy kids waiting for their ice cream!

Exam Results Are Out!

The results for my kid's first periodical exams are out and I am a happy mother because they all did well! This is of course thanks to my sister who made a big effort to review Danniel and Ishi despite her own studies and on the job training.  So its my problem now that for the next school year when my sister graduates from school and starts her own career that we need somebody to take care of tutoring and stuff.  This early, we are looking at eduboard com to see if my kids will be able to adapt to online tutoring.  While I believe that their attention will not wander unlike with a real tutor because this is something new and exciting, I still have to make sure that this will suit them.  I am having my sister evaluate it and my kids to try it to see if they would like it.  Otherwise, I might need to look for a tutor at school.  But their initial reaction to online tutoring is very well and I just have to wait for my sister to say that this is okay before I really take a good look.  I believe in my sister's judgment, not to mention that I am too busy at work this moment, so I will have to rely on her assessment.  She loves to see her niece and nephews do well in school and she takes as much pride in it as I do!

Epal Watch #2

Part 1 of my own EPAL WATCH is posted at my To Be, To Be, Tutubi blog but I am posting this one here because this is for the tarpaulin of Trisha Bonoan-David, which I already posted here way back in 2009 when there was no EPAL watch yet, but she was already a stand out!

This was taken using my Blackberry so please excuse the crappy picture.  I was standing at a bus station in Sta. Mesa Manila near the police station and the huge tarpaulin is across the street.  This the Old Sta Mesa and R. Magsaysay Blvd intersection (where the Bourne Legacy scenes were shot) but I can see it clearly because it is H-U-G-E! This is the tarpaulin that will greet visitors of Manila! Poor people of Manila. Or maybe this is a beautification project that we are not aware of? So Epal. I want to know and I know that I have a right to know, whose money is she using to print these tarpaulins?

Cafe Leona's Longganisa Pizza

While I didn't get to eat the Vigan Empanada, I was able to eat at Vigan's Cafe Leona. It is located at the Clle Crisologo, right where the street start, after the church.
And I had the Longanisa Pizza, among a lot more food.  The longganisa pizza was good, except that we wanted more longganiza on it.  The other table I think tried the pakbet pizza but Im not sure.  We dug in as soon as the pizza touched our table!
Ans I kid you not, it was gone in a blink of an eye!
